What is a typical cell phone number in America like?
An average or typical cell phone number in China is like this: 13111589979, with the first three digits varying from 132, 133, 136 and 137 to 138, 139 and 159. So u might get a number like 132********, or 138********, something like that. There are eleven digits in total in a single phone number here in China. China has two major mobile telecom carriers, China Mobile (is the largest and nearly dominates the telecom market) and China Unicom respectively.
So what are the phone numbers and mobile telecom network like in America or other countries (if u r not from the US.)?
In the US phone numbers consist of a 3-digit area code (123) plus a seven digit number. In some parts of the country you have to dial all 10 digits for a local call. In other parts you only have to dial the 7 digit number. If dialing outside of your area you have to put a ’1′ at the very beginning. It seems like we have thousands of mobile carriers but I’m not sure the total number – it’s not really a thousand but it just seems like it.
