ARE COMPOSITE CABLES THE SAME AS REGULAR RCA CABLES?
In other words, can I replace regular rca’s for my amplifier with composite cables. My Amplifier has a white and red rca connection, but I don’t have rca’s I only have A composite video cable. It appears to be the same type of connection.
First to answer you’re overall question: Yes.
Now, if the composite video cable that you have has a yellow plug and a red/white plug, then all you would have to do is use the red/white plugs to replace your RCA cable. Also, I’m assuming that you’re plugging in an audio source.
If the composite cable only has a yellow plug, then you would need two of them to get the job done. One to replace the white and the other to replace the red plug. I’d place a piece of tape on either end of one of them so you’ll know which one to plug into the appropriate rca connection.
