Coax Cable
My coax cable is connected to a transformer that plugs into the wall. Why?
I just moved into a new house and there is a coaxial cable protruding from the wall and connected to a processor (such as a cell phone charger) that is plugged into the wall behind the TV, I guess it's better reception or amplify the signal, but is it really necessary? I have a digital cable box, "need this to stay connected at all times? I fear that only the aspiration electricity without any reason.
It truly is a power source for an amplifier. I bet the coaxial cable going to an antenna on the roof or attic and there is an amplifier mounted on the mast just below the antenna.
