PS3 optical audio for HDTV?
I have ports for optical audio cable for both my PS3 and HDTV. Is it necessary to include or else is just a cable directly from PS3 to TV. What is the purpose of the cable, which will improve?
If you use an HDMI cable, and Television is the source of the sound, it is not necessary to use the optical cable, HDMI is already the execution would not make sense to use the optical properties. Now, if you have a surround sound system and goes directly to your TV HDMI, this is where I have my optical cable goes blu ray is going to my flatscreen via HDMI. I can use an optical cable from the Blu-ray even my surround receiver for Digital 5.1. My receiver is a couple of years and does not support HDMI, but everything works fine.
